When adult tooth loss occurs, dental implants offer the most secure foundation for artificial teeth, whether in the form of dental crowns, a dental bridge, or dentures. However, dental implants treatment can be time consuming and costly. Mini dental implants offer a strong foundation for dentures and can adequately treat tooth loss in a fraction of the time of traditional implants. Mini implants are also more affordable than traditional implants, making them a great treatment option for many of our patients. It is important to note that the ultimate success of mini dental implants treatment is dependent on the jawbone fusing with the implants. Unfortunately, there are cases in which mini dental implant failure can occur for our San Antonio patients. What Leads to Mini Dental Implant Failure?

The majority of the time, mini dental implant treatment is a complete success for our patients. However, there are cases in which mini implants fail to fuse with the bone properly or simply do not offer adequate support for dental restorations. Dr. Perry takes a great deal of time thoroughly examining a patient’s mouth in order to determine if they are ideal dental implant candidates. He will also create a treatment plan that will best meet the patient’s unique needs and optimize the chances of successful treatment.
